In this special feature, she’s giving us a peek inside her perfect packed beach bag, sharing multi-use products she swears by, and telling us how she styles her favorite Helen Jon pieces.
Tell us about your brand — how did you get into fashion and start sharing your style on Instagram?
After spending 20 years as a fashion stylist, I launched Megan’s Lifestyle as a fashion, beauty, and lifestyle brand in 2018. What began as a fashion blog has since expanded to include so much more over several social media outlets, including Instagram (@meganslifestyleblog) and Facebook.
I’m dedicated to empowering women, particularly those over 50, to live their best lives. Whether it’s fashion, beauty, or lifestyle (health & wellness, decorating, and travel), my goal is to resonate with women seeking both elegance and modernity in their lives.
How would you describe your personal style and how has it changed over time?
My style lives somewhere between timeless elegance and modern edge. I’m drawn to clean lines, elevated basics, and pieces that whisper sophistication, but I can also have fun with prints that tell a story.
I like to dress with intention and quiet confidence and perhaps break the rules just enough. My style has evolved from experimenting with trends to embracing a more refined, intentional aesthetic.
In the beginning, I tried on every look — bold patterns, statement pieces, whatever was 'in' that season. It was fun, but it didn’t always feel like me. As I entered midlife, I began to understand the power of timeless pieces, clean lines, and thoughtful details. Now, my style is rooted in elegance and sophistication, but I never let go of that edge — that little something unexpected that makes an outfit mine.
It’s a reflection of growing into confidence, knowing what works for me, and letting go of the need to follow every trend.
What are some of your favorite ways to style our resort wear pieces at the beach or while traveling?
Helen Jon resort pieces bring elegance and a little edge to my warm-weather wardrobe. I simply adore the fit and fabrication of their swimsuits, but I especially love their crochet selection of resort apparel.
I like to create sleek, modern, monochromatic looks when traveling. It’s a technique that allows for versatility while mixing and matching. I tend to stick to one color story — whites and tans and then add soft pops of color like periwinkle blue or shell pink that play off the neutrals.
I wore the Helen Jon scalloped crochet tank and maxi skirt all through Europe last summer and I’ll definitely be packing the beautiful crochet midi dress for this summer’s trips. It goes seamlessly from poolside to dinner…just add a nude slip!
What are some of your favorite skincare essentials to use while you’re traveling, especially at the beach?
● I always pack my Karam MD Trifecta skincare system. It consolidates essential anti-aging ingredients into a simplified 3-step regime.
● Tinted mineral sunscreen that serves as my SPF with a hint of coverage is a must-have. My favorites are Alastin HydraTint Pro Mineral SPF 36 and Color Science Unforgettable Flex SPF 50.
● Multi-use makeup is a travel girl’s hero. I like using Ogee Sculpted Face Sticks — they serve as a bronzer, highlighter, blush, eyeshadow, and lip tint.
What are your must-haves in your beach bag — and what might surprise us?
Here’s my go-to list of beach bag must-haves that blend elegance with everyday ease:
● Clear SPF 100 sunblock for body and Broad Spectrum SPF 50+ for face
● Chic coverup
● Wide brim hat
● Sunglasses with UV protection
● Hydrating facial mist
● Natural energy drink
● Beach-ready makeup essentials: SPF lip balm, sunscreen powder for quick touch-ups
